Baby Loves Disco

I came across these pictures today. This was an event the kids and I went to back in May. Baby Loves Disco is a monthly party where a nightclub is turned into a dance club for kids one Sunday afternoon a month. The kids had a good time -- Rory busted a move and Mathieu made some friends -- but 2 hours was all Mathieu (and Mom) could take.

Camping?

I took Rory and her three cousins camping for a weekend. We went to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Ashland, NH. I knew that I was in for a less than ideal situation, but it was even worse than I feared. No trees between our tent site and the ones next to me. All I could see were rows and rows of RVs and trailers on the way to the stage featuring a bad Elvis impersonator. The kiddie pool probably broke local noise ordinances. Dennis, a co-worker, goes camping in the true sense of the word, in the back country. No smelly bath houses with pay showers; no bad Elvis impersonators; no "campers" walking around with cell phones and draped in jewelry and makeup. The good news? The girls had a blast. And Rory enjoyed playing in the mud at the river more than the kiddie pool from hell.
