Hi friend,
Sydney is a trap. Melbourne is the place to go. More to do, more to see, a friendlier vibe and oh so much cleaner. Also, the food is just spectacular, like REALLY REALLY awesome - and quite cheap somehow.
Sydney's got a couple of icons but how long can you stare at a harbour? Not many people in Australia have any idea why it's got the rep it does. It's known for being the mecca for arrogant, entrepreneurial types who enjoy making money and pushing you over in the street.
Melbourne is where the culture at. I'd love to move there someday. (I live further north, in Brisbane at the moment - that's worth a look too, but can be overly touristy.)
There y'are. that was Flee's Australian Travel Wrap-Up.
All the best!

Thanks, Flee! I had to choose from a specific list, but believe me, when I get to Australia, I'll limit my time in the tourist traps. I live to head off the beaten path when I travel. Now I just have to find the time! Thanks for commenting -- I'm stoked that you found your way here from TMYG Hmmm. If you ever decide to travel to New England, I'll have some travel tips for you.
